WASHINGTON — A grand jury has indicted a District Heights man for the murders of his 2-year-old daughter and her mother.
It all stems from an incident over court-ordered child support payments of $600 that prosecutors believe led to the killings on Feb. 2.
Waiving his Miranda rights, Daron Boswell-Johnson, 25, told police that on the morning of the murders, he waited for his daughter Chloe Davis and her mother Neshante Davis, 26, to leave their Fort Washington apartment complex.
While Davis was placing the 2-year-old in her car seat, prosecutors believe Boswell-Johnson confronted Davis. The two argued, then he shot the mother and his daughter multiple times.
鈥淭his is really the unspeakable and the unthinkable, that you would have a parent who executes their own child,鈥� said John Erzen, a spokesman with the Prince George鈥檚 County State鈥檚 Attorney鈥檚 Office.
Davis was a teacher at Bradbury Heights Elementary School in Capitol Heights, Maryland.
Along with two counts of murder, the grand jury found enough of a case to add another two counts of use of a firearm during a crime of violence.
Boswell-Johnson is being held on no bond status. 聽If found guilty, he faces life in prison.
