Funeral held for slain mother, young daughter in Prince George鈥檚

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. 鈥 It was a packed house for聽the celebration of life services for 26-year-old elementary school teacher Neshante Davis and her 2-year-old daughter Chloe Davis-Green, .

鈥淚t鈥檚 terrible,鈥 says Gregory Barnes, who is an extended family member.

Barnes, like many others at the Ark of Safety Christian Church in Upper Marlboro on Saturday, were numb and dumbfounded over what happened to Davis and her child. . Prince George鈥檚 County鈥檚 police chief has called the crime 鈥渃allous鈥 and 鈥渃old-hearted.鈥

Barnes said he had a difficult聽time聽at聽the funeral.

鈥淵eah I couldn鈥檛 stay,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 take a funeral like that. Then they got the baby right on top of her [in the coffin]. Really, I couldn鈥檛 take it. I couldn鈥檛 take it.鈥

Chloe and her mother were given a police escort to Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Md. following the church services.

Police say the child鈥檚 father, Daron Boswell-Johnson, 25, admitted to the killings. In December, he was ordered by a judge to pay $600 a month in child support.

Boswell-Johnson has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. He is being held without bail.
