WASHINGTON 鈥斅燗 Fredericksburg, Virginia, man is being held without bond after police say he followed a woman through three states in a car which looked like it was a police cruiser.

This is not the first time Jerry Saintvil, 28, has been charged with impersonating a police officer.

“The聽thought is, was she going to follow her when she stopped to get gas or to pull over to rest and initiate contact. It’s something we’re looking into. It’s very concerning given his prior criminal history,” said Sgt. James Hartman with the Fauquier County Sheriff鈥檚 Office.

When Fauquier County investigators caught up with Saintvil on Route 29, they say he had wrapped his white cruiser with a logo that said “Police” and “911.”

Inside that car, investigators found tactical equipment, an air gun, a DOJ badge and portable radios, among other items.

The聽woman who was聽driving out of Western Maryland, through West Virginia and into Fauquier County never stopped for the聽fake officer. Instead, she did “the right thing,” Hartman said, in calling multiple jurisdictions as she was traveling聽when she recognized the car’s odd behavior.

“She聽described seeing the vehicle activate the blue lights, in an attempt to try to keep up with her,” Hartman said. But there was no indication he tried to pull her over, just that he was following her.

Saintvil told arresting deputies that the car he was driving was being used in a music video in Winchester, Virginia, and聽he was driving it home to Fredericksburg, according to the sheriff鈥檚 office. The car’s North Carolina tags read FILM CAR and investigators say Saintvil provided false identification to the officer.

He is facing multiple charges including impersonating an officer, false ID to law enforcement to avoid arrest and driving on a suspended license.
