鈥淵ou can鈥檛 ask for anything better. I鈥檝e been waiting only 53 years,鈥� McEnroe said. 鈥淪o, time has come. It鈥檚 going to be awesome because (Victor) Wembanyama is out of this world. Can鈥檛 ask for a better matchup. It is like a dream matchup, it鈥檚 like getting your best guys to do their thing.鈥�

Still, how can the Knicks stop Wembanyama?
鈥淚 don鈥檛 know if you stop him. It鈥檚 probably impossible to stop him,鈥� McEnroe said. 鈥淵ou just try to slow him down a little bit, I鈥檓 guessing, just make other guys beat you. But they got some great other players.鈥�
The Knicks won their only titles in 1970 and 1973.
鈥淚 loved Clyde. He was my favorite,鈥� McEnroe said of Walt 鈥淐lyde鈥� Frazier. 鈥淲illis (Reed). What a great team. So I thought that was going to happen regularly. So It took a little longer than anticipated.鈥�
Josh Hart is McEnroe鈥檚 favorite player on the current team.
