WASHINGTON — This Sunday, WWE Superstar Mike 鈥淭he Miz鈥� will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Darren Young, the prot茅g茅 of WWE legend Bob Backlund at the PPV Battleground.
The Miz will be escorted with his wife Maryse, who is a former Divas champion herself in the company.
The Miz, also referred to as 鈥淭he A-Lister鈥� after appearing in several movies, including a recent starring role in The Marine 5: Battleground, is a 5-time IC champion and was one of the cast members in The Real World in the early 2000s. He has been with the WWE since 2006, and he headlined the 鈥淪uper Bowl鈥� of WWE Wrestlemania in 2011.
The Intercontinental match at Sunday鈥檚 Battleground, live from the Verizon Center, will feature three other title matches including:
- U.S. Championship (Rusev vs Zack Ryder)
- Tag Team Title Match (The New Day vs the Wyatt Family)
- WWE Championship Triple Threat Match (Dean Ambrose v Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns)
WWE Women鈥檚 Champion Charlotte and 鈥淭he Franchise鈥� John Cena will also appear in matches as well.
