WASHINGTON 鈥斅燰olkswagen聽is recalling more than 5,000 e-Golf electric vehicles聽in the U.S. due to a battery software problem.
According to the data sheet sent to dealers, the issue lies with the diagnostics system.
聽the system is聽overly sensitive, and it might treat a brief power surge as a “critical battery condition.”聽If that happens, the high-voltage system shuts down.
The recall includes聽5,561 2015 and 2016 e-Golf electric vehicles sold in the U.S. since November 2014.聽The affected vehicles have a build date between May 21, 2014, and March 1, 2016.
