Two people are dead and two others are injured following a domestic incident in Prince George鈥檚 County, Maryland, on Sunday morning, according to police.
It happened in the 2500 block of Lazy Acres Road in Clinton around 6 a.m. when officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area,
When officers arrived, they found two adults that were pronounced dead on scene, police said.
Two other victims, one adult and one juvenile, were taken to the hospital and are being treated for 鈥渦ndetermined injuries,鈥� according to police.
Police said this has been determined to be a 鈥渄omestic related death investigation鈥� and does not appear to be a random act. They said there is no danger to the community.
Police say a gun was used in the incident.
Prince George鈥檚 County police say it is their first death investigation of the New Year.
鈥淭his is a very fluid crime scene right now and we鈥檙e working to determine everything that happened,鈥� said David Blazer of the Prince George鈥檚 County major crimes division. 鈥淲e鈥檙e talking to family members to try to understand exactly what happened today.鈥澛�
He said all of the victims knew each other. Blazer said that police are also taking to neighbors to better understand what happened.
鈥淎ny loss of life is terrible,鈥� Blazer said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 senseless and we don鈥檛 like to see that happen to anybody. Our concern right now is to try to understand what happened and get to the bottom of what happened.鈥澛�
