WASHINGTON — Many parents were shocked around the holidays when their kids opened a Play-Doh set with a plastic toy that resembled a part of the male anatomy. Now the parent company is vowing to replace the toy.
Many took to to complain that a toy in — called the 鈥2-piece extruder鈥 — looked like a penis.
Play-Doh apologized on Facebook and Hasbro promised to replace the toy.
鈥淲e have heard some consumer feedback about the extruder tool in the Play-Doh Cake Mountain playset and are in the process of updating all future Play-Doh products with a different tool. Should any consumer want a replacement extruder for this item, they can contact Hasbro鈥檚 Customer Service Department at 800-327-8264,鈥 says Play-Doh鈥檚 Facebook page.
The part of the set allows kids to create and decorate Play-Doh cakes.
The Sweet Shoppe Cake Mountain Playset is for kids three and up聽starts at more than $14 at stores such as Walmart.

Many parents expressed differing views on Facebook.
Erin Rivers say her kids enjoyed the toy and didn鈥檛 finding anything dirty about it.
鈥淣o Christmas ruined here- my children didn’t think anything about it. It was my (and many of my facebook friends’ minds) that thought it looked dirty!! Still allowed my children to play with it after I took some pics,鈥 Rivers wrote.
Jordon Hiller called for more common sense.
鈥淎 child will not notice this, it’s only weird when parents go crazy,鈥 Hiller wrote on Facebook.
