WASHINGTON — It’s not even New Year’s Day and maybe you’ve packed on the holiday pounds.
How about 30 more?
The Washington Humane Society is hoping you鈥檒l decide to gain 30 pounds or more by adopting one of their bigger dogs at the top of the year. On Jan. 3聽and 4, you can kick off 2015 for a discounted rate of $30.
Zenit Chugtai, online communication specialist with the Humane Society, says that鈥檚 a hefty price break; the normal adoption fee is $170.
To make the deal even better, Chugtai says you still get an animal who is spayed or neutered, and micro-chipped. You can get a free session with a Washington Humane Society partner trainer to help make the transition into your home a smooth one.
But doesn鈥檛 a bigger dog mean more work?
鈥淎ll dogs are individuals鈥 Chugtai says. 鈥淓ven a large dog may not be even the most active dog. They may even consider themselves a lapdog. We have plenty of dogs here who have no idea how large they are and are more than happy to squeeze into聽 your lap.鈥
