Georgetown University offers free classes for furloughed feds

WASHINGTON – In the midst of the government shutdown, Georgetown University is giving furloughed federal employees a chance to learn some new skills through .

This is the second round of classes the university is offering through its School of Continuing Studies. The initial classes offered earlier this month filled up in a matter of days.

Georgetown says the classes are designed to be relevant for government workers.

Employees are limited to one class apiece, and a number of the classes have already reached full enrollment.

Of the remaining open classes, the sessions range from a quarter-day to one day, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
