Ocean City Air Show is on – without Blue Angels

WASHINGTON – While sequestration means many this year, one big show is still happening in just a few weeks.

The takes place June 8 and June 9 with an all-civilian lineup that includes the Geico Skytypers, a P-51 Mustang and a Sea Harrier that looks like a plane but can take off and land vertically like a helicopter.

Show-goers will see daredevil pilots, low-altitude flyovers, and parachute team jumps.

The Ocean City Air Show is free and, adding to the drama, the performances are held above the beach and boardwalk.

While the air show is on, the Navy’s Blue Angels .

In April, The Blue Angels announced all of its remaining 2013 performances were canceled due to sequestration budget cuts.

That means The Blue Angels’ graduation flyover at the U.S. Naval Academy originally scheduled in Annapolis this week won’t happen either.
