WASHINGTON – Washington and Baltimore are two of the drunkest cities in the nation, according to .

To create the list, The Daily Beast weighed information on the number of alcoholic drinks served per adult in each metro area, along with numbers from the CDC on the percentages of binge drinkers and heavy drinkers.

D.C. ranks ninth on the list, while Baltimore comes in at number 13.

The Washington area is listed as serving up an average of 15.6 alcoholic drinks per adult per month, with 14.5 percent of the population classified as binge drinkers, and 5 percent classified as heavy drinkers.

The Baltimore area is listed as serving an average of 14.7 alcoholic drinks per adult per month, with 16.3 percent of the population classified as binge drinkers, and 4.8 percent classified as heavy drinkers.

Another city in the region, Norfolk, Va., is ranked second drunkest.
