WASHINGTON – Clayton Zook and his partner, Wayne MacKenzie of Baltimore, got married on New Year’s Day – the first day same-sex couples could be married in Maryland.
It was among six weddings performed at Tilghman Island’s Black Walnut Point Inn. Co-owner of the inn Tracy Staples officiated. Staples and friend Jen Russell, both were officials for a total of six marriages of same-sex couples.
On Wednesday, six couples are expected to marry at Montgomery County’s courthouse.
