Veterans can enjoy a tasty treat

WASHINGTON – On Veterans Day, Americans across the county will honor and thank the men and women who served our country, and one Fairfax resident has a unique, and tasty, way to show appreciation.

Three years ago, Daniel Winters started a program called the Belated Chow Initiative, which encourages others to thank a veteran with a restaurant gift card. “The idea is that you would buy a gift card that had a value to feed at least two people,” says Winters.

The intention behind Belated Chow Initiative is to make up for a meal a veteran may have missed while serving our country and to share that meal with a friend or loved one.
