Janet Bodnar, editor at Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, says to be on the lookout for emails from retailers offering free shipping codes or promotions for free shipping on orders of a certain amount. Some stores, such as Target and Gap, even offer free shipping to customers with store credit cards.
Another resource Bodnar suggests is , an online website that lists coupon codes for more than 1,000 merchants. According to Bodnar, the site guarantees delivery by Dec. 24 on all items ordered before Dec. 17.
