WASHINGTON – As the Nationals move closer to a guaranteed spot in the playoffs, there’s still no agreement in place about who will pay to keep subway trains running late if the games run past Metro’s midnight closing time.
Metro General Manager Richard Sarles says the conversation about a contract is ongoing.
“The staff talks back and forth. And, again, really for us, we’re very willing to provide the service, we just need an agreement,” says Sarles.
As first reported by 海角精品黑料, D.C. Councilmember Jack Evans, D-Ward 2, who is heavily involved in the discussion, promises riders they will have a ride home on Metro no matter what time the games end.
“Here’s what I can assure you, the Metro system will stay open as late as we need it to get everyone home. That I can assure you,” says Evans.
When asked why he was so confident about the extended service, Evans said, “because I am making it happen.”
