Georgetown University seeks 100 acres for expansion

Georgetown University is making plans to expand eastward in the District, possibly as far as Anacostia, .

This month, the school received bids from development companies interested in helping the school acquire and develop a new campus of as much as 100 acres, which is nearly the size of its 104-acre main campus.

Among sites under consideration are some at the eastern end of Capitol Hill and Poplar Point, a waterfront parcel abutting Anacostia.
