WASHINGTON – In just a few weeks, Metro is going to change the way it operates during rush hours in the hopes of providing a better trip on the system.
Riders may have seen the signs in trains and stations about , a new rush-hour service that will provide more trains for riders during rush hours.
“It’s where we are increasing service in the rush hours, from 6:30 to 9 a.m. weekdays and 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in afternoons,” says Metro General Manager Richard Sarles.
Twenty-one stations will see more trains during rush hours. Only the Arlington Cemetery station will see a decrease.
Metro says riders will need to pay extra attention to the destination of the train they boarding.
Teams of employees will be out in the early stages directing people, the agency says.
