Food truck satisfies PBJ cravings, with a note from ‘Mom’

WASHINGTON – “Peanut butter, jelly and a baseball bat.”

If that phrase makes sense, then pay attention to this: The purveyors of all cuisine fast, funky and delicious have a new D.C. food truck that’s sure to satisfy cravings for viral video-inspired food, reports.

“Peanut Butter Jelly Time” was founded by the same guys who set up sushi and Pabst haven Sticky Rice, with locations in Baltimore and on H Street, just a few blocks up from their other late-night hub, Dangerously Delicious Pies. The truck slings comfort food sandwiches in a brown paper bag with milk, chips or apples, and a love note from “Mom.”

Some of their creations include:

  • The Elvis: A hot dog roll filled with peanut butter and half a banana.
  • The Meow Meow: A triple-decker Wonderbread sandwich with both almond and peanut butter, sliced almonds, wildflower honey and some Cap’n Crunch.
  • The Sticky Icky: Red pepper jelly over wheat bread with prosciutto, bacon, Lay’s potato chips and apple slices.
  • The Rainbow Bright: This “dessert-wich” holds PB&J rocking peanut butter ice cream and jelly between two graham crackers or two shortbread cookies.
