WASHINGTON — A Georgia principal blurted a series of what some deem to be racist comments at a group of people during a graduation聽commencement for an alternative school on Friday, and now she seeks forgiveness.
TNT Academy founder and principal Nancy Gordeuk has apologized after her offensive comments, which were captured on cellphone camera, swirled around聽the internet and sparked outrage among many people on social media.
The video catches Gordeuk berating an unidentified person and calling them a “goober” and 鈥渓ittle coward.鈥澛� As the聽audience became聽uneasy by her comments, many in the crowd stood up and began leaving the ceremony.
Gordeuk then directed her anger at the some people off camera who apparently walked out.
“Look who’s leaving, all the black people,” Gordeuk said.
The comment聽triggered聽a flurry of outrage聽from people in the crowd and students on stage, many of who began walking out of their own graduation ceremony.
Gordeuk’s comments then animated people on social media.

As anticipated, 聽an apology did come from Gordeuk聽on聽Saturday.
“”I deeply apologize for my actions made in the emotional state of trying to let this last student finish his speech. I take a personal interest in the success of every student that comes through our doors without regard to their race, religion or ethnicity.” — Gordeuk wrote in a statement.
