WASHINGTON –An investigation into a dog bite led to the seizure of 66 dogs from a home in Rockville, Maryland on Friday.
A search warrant was executed after Montgomery County animal services officers visited the residence on New Year’s Eve to inquire about a dog involved in a bite case.
The dogs they recovered varied in age size and breed. Some of them required immediate medical attention.
Police claimed the聽homeowner was “uncooperative” during聽the initial visit,聽unwilling to let officers聽look聽for the dog involved in the bite case.
Then, as officers聽spoke to the homeowner outside, they聽began to suspect that there were a large number of animals living 聽in the home based on “observations of the condition of the home and property.”
Police said the dogs are now in the care of the Animal Services Division.
