Md. man indicted on murder charge of WWII vet, neighbor

WASHINGTON –聽A grand jury has 聽indicted聽a Maryland man on a murder charge for the stabbing death of聽his neighbor, a World War II veteran.

Thursday night, the Montgomery County grand jury found probable cause that 60-year-old Eric Dyson killed聽and stole from 95-year-old Dan Belvin at the Randolph Village Senior Living community where they both lived.

“The five count indictment includes murder, theft and three credit card misuse charges,” says聽Ramon Korionoff, public affairs director with the Montgomery County States Attorney’s office.

Detectives say Belvin was found stabbed to death in his apartment in late February. Police say 聽Dyson was caught on store surveillance using the victim’s credit cards and racked up $5,500 total.

“Any murder is bad but the murder of someone who served our country and is advanced in age, certainly tugs at the heart strings聽 and we look forward to proving this case in court,” Korionoff says.

Dyson聽will be tried within the next six months.
