WASHINGTON —聽Democratic presidential hopeful Martin O鈥橫alley’s Virginia campaign chairman has been dropped from the campaign following his arrest on聽two felony child porn charges, according to reports.
Michael C. Teegarden is聽accused of involvement in 鈥渙nline trading of digital child pornography on a peer-to-peer file-sharing network,鈥澛.
Haley Morris, a spokeswoman for O鈥橫alley, told that 聽the campaign severed ties with Teegarden, who was serving in a volunteer capacity,聽“immediately.鈥
“We’re horrified by these allegations, and if he is found guilty he should be punished to the full extent of the law,鈥 Morris said.
Teegarden lives in Hanover County, Va., and has been a local educator for more than a decade, according to the Dispatch.
O’Malley, the former governor of Maryland, is running against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and former Sens. Jim Webb and Lincoln Chaffee, for the Democratic nomination.
