(CNN) 鈥 Multimedia journalist Cach茅 McClay is having a career as she takes on her new role as the Beyonc茅 reporter for USA Today and The Tennessean.
鈥淚 grew up in a Beyonc茅 household, my mother and sister are fans,鈥 McClay said, according to USA Today, who the news of McClay鈥檚 hiring on Monday. 鈥淢ore than playing music, Beyonc茅鈥檚 impact has shown us the possibilities are endless,鈥 she added.
A seasoned entertainment journalist, McClay has worked for NBC News, BBC News and TMZ, and graduated from Howard University in 2017.
In the role, which grew widespread attention when the job was posted in September, McClay will cover the 鈥淐uff It鈥 singer鈥檚 鈥渃omplex business and entertainment empire,鈥 as well as Beyonc茅鈥檚 fanbase, known as the 鈥淏eyHive,鈥 and her influence on fashion, music and culture.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited to dive deeper into her evolution as a businesswoman,鈥 McClay said.
There certainly will be no shortage of content for McClay to cover as Beyonc茅 prepares to premiere her titled 鈥淩enaissance: A Film by Beyonc茅,鈥 which documents her 鈥凌别苍补颈蝉蝉补苍肠别鈥 world tour, in theaters next month.
Gannett, USA Today and The Tennessean鈥檚 parent company, also recently journalist Bryan West as the newspaper network鈥檚 dedicated Taylor Swift reporter, after the posting for that position also went viral in September.
As for McClay, she鈥檚 ready to cover all things Beyonc茅, telling The Tennessean in a video on Monday that 鈥渁ll of my experiences have led me to be exactly who I am today.鈥
鈥淎nd I鈥檓 so grateful to introduce myself as Cach茅 Janae McClay 鈥 your first, one and only Beyonc茅 reporter,鈥 she added.
