Military helicopter training exercise set for Tuesday in DC area

WASHINGTON 鈥 If you see military helicopters flying low around the District and surrounding area on Tuesday, it鈥檚 probably just a drill.

The Joint Force Headquarters 鈥 National Capital Region announced that it鈥檒l be holding helicopter training in the D.C. area throughout the day.

Army and Air Force Black Hawk and Bell Iroquois helicopters will fly at altitudes between 200 and 1,000 feet as part of emergency preparedness training, which will 鈥渟erve to refine and improve the military鈥檚 ability to respond to natural and man-made disasters,鈥 the Joint Force Headquarters said in a statement.
