WASHINGTON 鈥 The D.C.-area鈥檚 summer schedule is packed with beer, wine and food festivals, but on June 10, there鈥檚 a festival that will feed the mind.
The second annual will take place Sunday at the in Columbia, Maryland, and several prominent authors and journalists will take the stage for readings and panel discussions.
鈥淲e believe that the market that we鈥檙e in is a very intellectual market, and smart, and progressive, and it鈥檚 a way to really celebrate all of those things in one location, in one day,鈥 said Vanessa Rodriguez, director of marketing with the Howard Hughes Corporation, the sponsor of the event.

Well-known graphic designer Oliver Munday, children鈥檚 author Laura Melmed and Hillary Clinton鈥檚 former presidential campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri will also be in attendance.
If your crew prefers to get up and play rather than sit and listen, no need to worry. Rodriguez said Books in Bloom will have plenty of activities to keep the young ones occupied, including puppet shows, face paintings, a balloon artist and more.
The daylong event will also include live music, food and a pop-up bookstore from Politics and Prose.
