Retailers say 鈥淪uper Saturday鈥� 鈥� the Saturday before Christmas 鈥� has become the busiest shopping day of the year. Also, compared to last year, shopping volume has increased while prices have聽decreased, according to data from the聽.
Locally, large crowds were hitting the stores for some last minute shopping on Super Saturday.
Tia Gardner, from Alexandria, Virginia, started her day early. By 10:30 a.m., she had finished up at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax, Virginia.
鈥淵eah, it鈥檚 getting crowded in there,鈥� Gardner says, laughing.
Gardner says she wanted to take advantage of the deals. 鈥淵ou get good deals when you come out the last-minute, it seems,鈥� says Gardner.
She got to relish in the fact that she had finished up her Christmas shopping.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a good feeling,鈥� she says. 鈥淣ow I can go on home and get out of this madness.鈥�
