Va. high school students lead nation in perfect AP scores

WASHINGTON 鈥斅燗 few Northern Virginia high school students are perfect. Well, at least their AP scores are.

Students at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia, received more perfect scores on the Advanced Placement tests than at any other school in the country. There were six perfect test scores at the school.

TJHSST Principal Evan Glazer said the tests聽were in computer science, Spanish and U.S. government and politics 鈥 with two perfect scores in each subject.

“It is certainly an accolade, reaching a perfect score,” Glazer said. “But our pursuit is taking on challenges that expose where we are imperfect so that we can learn from our mistakes and constantly improve what we’re doing.”

While the scores will help the students on their college acceptance, Glazer said they will need a well-rounded application that’s not only heavy on test scores.
