Intersection near George Mason U. reopens after gas leak

WASHINGTON — A gas main leak caused major traffic delays near George Mason University Friday.

Va. 123 at Braddock Road and surrounding areas near George Mason University reopened to traffic around 4 p.m., after a gas line caused the roads to close around 9 a.m.

A construction crews in the area hit a gas line Friday morning, Fairfax County police said.

Washington Gas says there weren’t any evacuations as of 11:15 a.m., and there is no disruption of service.
