NEW YORK (AP) 鈥� Fresh off her triumphant turn in London as , is taking her Argentine first lady to Broadway.
The revival 鈥� directed by Jamie Lloyd 鈥� will play at a Shubert theater to be announced in the spring of 2027, producers said Wednesday. The musical is about the caustic intersection of politics and showbiz.
鈥淧erforming 鈥疶im鈥� Rice鈥� and Andrew鈥疞loyd Webber鈥檚 brilliant show 鈥痠n London was a dream come true, but being able to 鈥痯artner once again with Jamie to鈥� bring 鈥楨vita鈥欌�� to鈥� Broadway鈥� is a once in a lifetime opportunity,鈥� Zegler said in a statement. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 wait 鈥痶o perform for my home, New York City.鈥�
Zegler won the Olivier Award as best actress in a musical earlier this month. She received lots of attention for performing the song 鈥淒on鈥檛 Cry For Me, Argentina鈥� on an exterior balcony, attracting large crowds to the street every night while theatergoers inside watched on screens. Lloyd did something similar with his revival of 鈥淪unset Boulevard鈥� 鈥� placing the actor Tom Francis outside the theater each night.
鈥淓vita鈥� began as a rock opera concept album and transferred to Broadway in 1979, starring Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin. It was revived in 2012 starring Elena Roger and Ricky Martin, nominated for a best revival Tony.
