WASHINGTON — Stephen King’s “It” finally gets an overdue big-screen adaptation on Friday.

It’s just the latest of more than 60 King works to hit movie and TV screens over the past 40 years, including “The Dark Tower,” “Mr. Mercedes,” “Gerald’s Game” and “1922” this year.

As the acclaimed author turns 70 this month, we’re looking back on his prolific career.
