Police to the Seinfeld family: No lemonade for you!

WASHINGTON 鈥 Maybe it was a case of life imitating art for Jerry Seinfeld, who, much like his 1990s sitcom, was聽stymied by an annoying neighbor.

On Aug. 18, the police were called on the Seinfeld family, who had聽set聽up a roadside lemonade stand for charity 聽in East Hampton, New York, .

Police told the newspaper that they had received a complaint about illegally parked vehicles at the location, and that the village prohibits聽all forms of peddling.

The lemonade stand was an attempt to raise money for, a nonprofit that聽provides聽goods to聽 impoverished children.

The organization was聽founded and run by Seinfeld鈥檚 wife, Jessica Seinfeld.

In a playful gesture, the family took to , posting a photo of themselves at the roadside stand with their hands up and behind their heads in “surrender” — a police officer visible in the background beside a squad car.
