DC restaurant manager robbed, shot in Atlanta

WASHINGTON 鈥 The general manager of a D.C. restaurant is in critical condition in an Atlanta hospital after he was robbed and shot following a wedding.

Christian Broder,聽the general manager of Millie鈥檚, on Massachusetts Avenue in Northwest, was shot outside a country club where he and three other people were waiting for an Uber after a wedding they鈥檇 attended, a report from the Atlanta police said.

When a car arrived, Broder and his group walked toward it assuming it was their ride, but a man got out of the passenger鈥檚 side and robbed them at gunpoint, taking a cellphone, a purse, wallets and cash.

Broder tried to flag down another passing vehicle and get them to call 911, then went after the robber to negotiate, the police report said. The suspect turned around and shot Broder in the abdomen, the police said.

A has been set up for Broder鈥檚 family; according to the campaign, 鈥淐hristian is in critical condition鈥 and has 鈥渦ndergone several lifesaving surgeries.鈥 He鈥檚 still in intensive care in Atlanta, the campaign says.

that Broder is in “stable but critical condition,” and that he’s 34 and is married with a 9-month-old daughter.
