D.C. DMV to extend inspection hours Thursday

WASHINGTON – The D.C. Department of Motor Vehicle’s will offer extended hours at its inspection station Thursday, July 2, to make up for lost service while the station was closed Wednesday.

The inspection station, at 1001 Half Street SW, will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accommodate motorists.

Drivers with an inspection sticker that expired on June 30 or July 1 will not have to pay a penalty. And all late inspection fees will be waived.

WASHINGTON 鈥 The District鈥檚 Department of Motor Vehicles鈥 Inspection Station will be closed Wednesday, July 1 due to what were聽described as 鈥渟ignificant system issues.鈥

According to the D.C. DMV, customers who have an inspection sticker聽expiring either June 30 or July 1聽can come to the station to receive a temporary 30-day sticker. All late inspection fees resulting from the Wednesday closure will be waived.

All D.C. DMV locations will also be closed July 3 and July 4 for Independence Day.
