WASHINGTON — D.C. police officers have arrested the man who they say stabbed a former student government president at the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro station on Saturday.
On Monday, patrol officers found and arrested Jasper Spires, a D.C. resident.聽He was charged with “Murder I While Armed,” according to police information.
On the Fourth of July, police say, Spires Kevin Joseph Sutherland. He was 24.
Sutherland’s friends and colleagues have taken to social media to remember him.聽Sutherland, of Northeast, once interned for U.S. Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut.
In a tweet, Himes said he was 鈥渁bsolutely heartbroken by the tragic loss of intern, staffer & wonderful friend, Kevin Sutherland.”
