WASHINGTON — The attorney general for D.C. has filed suit against two police officers who fraudulently enrolled their children in D.C. Public Schools.
According to a news release, the Metropolitan Police Department officers violated the D.C. False Claims Act by enrolling the three children. The accused are Lt. Alan Hill and Sgt. Candace Hill who used an address they didn’t live at聽to enroll their kids in a Cleveland Park school.
According to the District’s complaint the address Alan Hill used was actually a property he rented to others.
According to law, non-D.C. residents need to pay tuition to attend District schools. Two of the Hills’ children were enrolled in D.C. schools from 2005 to 2013 while the other was enrolled from 2003 to 2015. During that time they lived in various places in Maryland and Virginia.
The suit seeks $224,291 in unpaid tuition and penalties.
