Metro service to run on Sunday schedule through Monday

Metro train and bus service on Christmas Day and the observed holiday on Monday, Dec. 26 will both follow a Sunday schedule, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority .

WMATA said that MetroAccess customers will be able to travel on the holiday, but subscription trips will be canceled. They also note that on Monday,听Yellow Line shuttle buses will not operate; instead, customers should use Blue Line and Blue Plus train service for travel between Virginia and D.C.



Detailed service information is included below:

Metrorail

  • Hours: 7 a.m. 鈥 midnight
  • Service:Red Line听trains every 10 minutes,听Blue/Orange/Silver Line听trains every 15 minutes,听Green Line trains every 8 minutes.
  • Fares: Sunday, regular $2 weekend fare; Monday, off-peak fares in effect all day.
  • Parking: Free at all Metro owned parking garages and lots.

Metrobus

  • Hours: Schedules vary by route.
  • Service: All buses scheduled to operate on Sundays will operate; all other routes will not operate on the holiday. .
  • Fares:听All regular route Metrobus service is $2; and free when transferring to/from Metrorail.

MetroAccess

Metro access service will operate normal service on the holiday; however, all scheduled recurring 鈥渟ubscription trips鈥 are automatically canceled. Customers may make a 听or by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535).

Customer Service

Metro’s customer information call center will be closed for the holiday, reopening on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Automatic information is available seven days a week, 24-hours a day by calling (202) 637-7000 or online at听.
