If you had your heart set on fun in the sun as summer starts to wrap up, you might want to rethink that: D.C. health officials added Delaware back to the District’s list of high-risk states Monday.
The updated list comes ahead of Labor Day, when a lot of people from the D.C. region visit the Delaware beaches.
Anyone coming into the District from a high-risk state is due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I’m sorry to hear that we’re back on the list,” Dewey Beach Mayor Dale Cooke told 海角精品黑料. “We’ve been on and off so many times in so many different areas that the scores change daily, and we’ve kept the scores down pretty low here.”
“I certainly am sorry that they felt it necessary to put us on a quarantine list.”
Cooke said the number of visitors coming to Delaware is down for the season.
He hopes Delaware gets off the list soon, “but we understand the logic behind it,” he said. “We understand what drives the powers that be to create lists, because they’re trying to protect their people, just like we’re trying to protect the people that visit here.”
The other states added to the list are Hawaii and South Dakota.
