WASHINGTON 鈥 A U.S. Senate staffer is facing a federal charge after court documents say he bought聽drugs from China with the intent to exchange聽them for sexual favors.
Senate staffer Fred W. Pagan is facing the federal charge of possession with intent to distribute after court documents say he shipped drugs in from China.
Pagan is a staffer for , R-Mississippi.
The drugs in a package addressed to Pagan’s home were detected by customs agents in Ohio on April 9. The documents say the package held more than a kilo of GBL, similar to the聽 so-called date rape drug GHB.
A search of his Northwest home turned up 181聽grams of methamphetamine. The documents say Pagan told officers he planned to exchange the GLB and meth for sexual favors.
Cochran’s office did not respond to a聽request for a statement.
