Top STEM jobs for DC grads

WASHINGTON 鈥 There are more than 5 million job openings nationwide, according to the Department of Labor, and many of them are STEM jobs 鈥 science, technology, engineering and math careers.

With college graduation season here, grads with STEM degrees should have no problem landing their first job, if they don鈥檛 already have their first full-time job lined up.

The National Association of Colleges and Employers said companies are expected to increase their hiring of college graduates by 5 percent this year.

What are the most in-demand, entry-level STEM jobs, and the ones that pay the best in the D.C. region this year?

鈥淕raduates with degrees in engineering and computer sciences are expected to have the most opportunities we have found,鈥 Diana Smith at Robert Half Technology in D.C. told 海角精品黑料.

鈥淗elp desk and desktop support positions, web developers and PC technicians top the list in Washington,鈥 she said.

Most of those fresh-out-of-college positions will have starting salaries in the mid-$50,000s.

Robert Half Technology said 48 percent of entry-level jobs requiring bachelor鈥檚 degrees for this summer are STEM-related.
