º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ recognized with Crystal Heritage Award

WASHINGTON — The National Association of Broadcasters has venerated º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ with its esteemed NAB Crystal Heritage Award — an honor that only six other radio stations have gotten over the 31-year history of the awards.

To be recognized with the Heritage Award, radio stations must have won a total of five Crystal Radio Awards for year-round community service efforts.

º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ General Manager and Senior Vice President Joel Oxley accepted the honor during NAB’s We Are Broadcasters Celebration.

To be considered for the Heritage Award, stations must display a commitment to serving the community.

For example, in 2016, º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ provided 60,000 minutes of traffic, weather, metro alerts and commuter information for residents of the region. The station’s first-ever “Click for Kids” campaign online resulted in $30,000 being donated to local schools. And 15,000 minutes of public affairs and public service programming was aired.

In all, º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ has helped raise more than $6 million for a variety of causes.
