WASHINGTON —聽The body of a missing boater was found Sunday聽morning in water south of Annapolis.
At around聽10 a.m. Sunday, search crews discovered the body of 47-year-old Joseph Rossi, a resident of聽Edgewater, Maryland, in South River near Selby Bay.
Maryland Natural Resources police said Rossi聽had rented a boat Saturday in Edgewater, along with his wife and two kids.
Rossi was heading back to return the boat Saturday聽when his hat fell in the water and he聽jumped in to get it, police said. Rossi’s ex-wife, who didn’t know how to operate a聽boat, ended up driving away from the scene. The two had maintained an amicable relationship in the interest of their twins.
Rescue聽crews had to give up the search Saturday night because it was dark, but resumed the search聽Sunday morning.
